Lewis and Clark Expedition
Ranger Crystal brought clothing, pelts, tracks, plants, instruments, and other things that taught us about the Lewis and Clark Expedition with the Corps of Discovery. Here you see Emily getting sworn into the army after donning an army outfit from around 1804.

Electrical Safety
Mrs. Bates, from the ESD, came to class and helped us act out what goes on inside a dam when electricity is made. Then she used a graphic display to show us what happens when people are not safe around electricity in our homes and neighborhoods.
Halloween Project
The 4th graders saw a need and they filled it. They realized that our Kindergarten class never got to participate in the Halloween parade downtown and collect candy. So the 4th graders worked in partners to create downtown storefronts which they set up in the commons. Then they gathered things to give the Kindergarteners when they came trick or treating. These included candy, gum, pencils, juice, stickers, and safety tags for coat zippers. Nathaniel gave them a few tips on staying safe when they are out trick or treating. The Kindergarten students were very excited and grateful.
Junior high and high school students came out to watch the parade
We celebrated with our own Halloween party.
Sugar in Our Favorite Drinks
Ms. Jenka helped us learn to read labels and figure out how much sugar was really in our favorite drinks. We carefully measured out the number of teaspoons in each drink and shared our findings with the class. Some of us were surprised. We also learned that sugar is at the very tip of the food pyramid and should be eaten occasionally. Most of our food should come from the base which includes fresh fruits and veggies. Ms. Jenka helped us try all sorts of nutritious snacks. She also helped us analyze food from our favorite fast food restaurants.
Be Big
Standing, sitting, whatever, BE BIG for 2 minutes. It's helps you be more successful when it changes the production of certain hormones in your body.
Cascade Fires Project
Claire, community outreach coordinator, organized a project for the school. She collected snack foods for the firefighters in Wenatchee. These are the cards made by the students that were sent with the food and posted at Confluence Park where the firefighters rested.
